Three tripod-mounted camcorders and videos

Japanese for "folded paper crane," 折鶴 looks, literally, to Dorothea Rockburne's 'Arena III,' a folded vellum piece from 1978. Origami figures--of a penguin, for instance--appear on the camcorders' viewfinders. 折鶴 was for the Cranbrook Art Museum's 2012 re-opening, which put contemporary artists in dialogue with works from the permanent collection.

Special thanks to Ben Wolf Noam.
